Winter took its time arriving, but now that it’s here the temps are in the 30’s!  I have a few warm snacks I like to munch on when I’m craving more of a comfort food.  These warm, sweet apples do just that! Carrot Fries – Warm Snacks for Cold Days

The cold weather is here and sometimes a cold snack or side dish doesn’t seem comforting.  This is one of the warm snacks I enjoy when I’m craving something not sweet.  Roasting the veggies really brings out the flavor and its a great alternative to chips and fries!  So, I guess this works for a year round recipe when summer BBQ’s are in full season 😀

You can make tons of great veggie fry combinations.  Using different spice blends, vinegar, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese can give them a whole new flavor!

Golden Smoothie | Paleo Recipe

Golden Paleo Smoothie

When we visited Dubai I had an amazing smoothie and realized it was so much better not being blended with ice (or at least in my opinion)!  Anyways, we were not sure what we ordered and just went off some pictures.  The person who made it was really nice and tried to point at some fruit.  This is my re-creation and it’s almost spot on! : )

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mango juice
  • 1/2 fresh pineapple
  • 1 banana
  • orange zest (to taste)

Add all ingredients into a blender and blend well (add orange zest into the drink).  Garnish with more orange zest and enjoy! : )

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie – Oh My! | Paleo Recipe

Vegan Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

I was using up some ingredients in the house and made this pumpkin pie smoothie combination! I’m pretty sure I just made my new fave : ) It’s very creamy, like drinking a pie! lol

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 pear
  • 3 Tbsp. pumpkin puree
  • 1/2c almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp.  pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. organic maple syrup

Add to your blender,  mix until you achieve a creamy consistency, and enjoy this yummy seasonal flavor!
